Backup WhatsApp messages step by step:

open your WhatsApp and tap on the upper right 3 dots

in the google, drive settings tap on backup to google drive
and tap on google account.

you must use your own personal Google account for managing backup and restore.
the backup process depends on the size of the backup and on your internet connection.
backup only your chat messages will take less time. after including media in the chat for example videos, images, and voice messages can take time longer.
